We didnt attend Spring Fair this year...we took a year off! [We chose to do the Interiors Show instead..we couldnt face the NEC twice in one month!] But as you know, you don't have to make a special effort to get to the NEC, our agents can come to you!

This year PQ2 are very proud to be making our charitable donation to OXFAM, and specifically Oxfam Unwrapped

Every year, Oxfam works out what people in the world need the most in order to help them overcome poverty and suffering. These are featured in the Oxfam Unwrapped gift catalogue, organised by category.

For example, all education related gifts are included in one category. When you buy a gift, Oxfam spends your money either on your chosen gift or on something else in the same category. This kind of flexibility means that poor communities worldwide can get exactly what they need if and when their circumstances change.

The associated costs of providing your gift – including the costs of Oxfam Unwrapped and things like transport and training – are included in the price of the gift.

So, for example, if PQ2 bought 8 school books as a gift for a child (price £8), this is one way the money could be spent:

A project in the Benishangul region of Ethiopia is providing basic education for nearly 1,900 rural children who were previously out of school. Key to its success is providing appropriate teaching materials. Your gifts helped fund the development of special workbooks and teachers’ guides with information and texts which make sense in the local context and help to maintain the pupils’ interest.

Other education gifts that PQ2 could buy with its donation to Oxfam:

· School desk and chair (£30): Invest in a seat of learning. Having proper facilities encourages kids to stay in school and makes teaching and learning easier – even for those in the back row.

· Teach a teacher (£24): Put a teacher in a different class by giving them proper support and training. Teachers will learn techniques to manage classes and do their job more effectively - meaning lots more kids can get the most out of school.

· Build a classroom (£1700): Go large and make a big difference to a school – now and for years to come. From windows and walls to floors and furnishings, this gift helps build and renovate schoolrooms and gives education-hungry kids the right environment in which to learn.

PQ2 will be running a vote on where you would like to see where the money goes, and where possible - Oxfam will direct the money there!
